It's 32 years ago that Erol Alkan first played a public DJ set (at The Gass Club in London's Leicester Square), 30 years since he secured his first residency, at Going Underground, and 28 years since he started Trash, a Monday-night institution in London that lasted 10 years and hosted early live performances by LCD Soundsystem, Peaches, Scissor Sisters and host of other greats.

Since those heady early days Alkan has never put a foot wrong, building a remarkably consistent and varied three-decade career in which his BBC 6 Music and NTS radio residencies, Phantasy Sound record label, mashup work as Kurtis Rush and psychedelic rock work alongside Richard Norris as Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve have been just a few highlights. Alkan plays a four-hour set –, a format that suits his knowledge and experience down to a tee, and downstairs – in Nitsa, and downstairs in Astin there are sets from Estella Boersma, Lucia Lu and Acidnena.
