Festa Major de Gràcia 2025
By Charlotte Stace

Every August, the streets of Barcelona's Gràcia neighbourhood burst into life with the week-long Festa Major de Gràcia, one of the city’s most hotly anticipated summer festivals. It offers an unmissable blend of art, live music, culture and delicious gastronomy. What more could you want out of a festival?
What sets Gràcia’s Festa Major apart from the rest is its street decoration competition, where local residents spend months creating imaginative, whimsical and sometimes surreal decorations that transform each street into an other-wordly spectacle.
Alongside this, there’ll be the usual Festa Major activities: the correfoc (fire run), gegants (giant figures) and castellers (human towers). The soundtrack to the week is provided by local bands and DJs, while food stalls serve a wide variety of street food and local delicacies. Whether you’re a local or visitor, the Festa Major de Gràcia is an amazing way to soak up Barcelona’s summer spirit.
