Festa Major d'Horta 2026
By Charlotte Stace

Barcelona’s summer spirit shines brightest in its festes majors - the famous neighbourhood street parties that bring music, colour and tradition to every corner of the city. This September, Festa Major d’Horta brings one of Barcelona’s oldest neighbourhoods into full celebration mode, with streets, squares and local organisations all joining forces for days of music, food, folklore and community life.
Expect the usual festa major mix: concerts, community meals, children’s activities, workshops, sports, markets, sardanes, gegants, correfocs, local history and plenty of reasons to celebrate. Horta’s strong associative network is right at the heart of it, with groups from cultural centres, schools, sports clubs, traders and popular-culture organisations all helping to make the festival happen.
Closing with fireworks and music, the celebration captures Barcelona’s unique mix of community, culture and joy. This is one way to ease yourself back into the swing of city life after the holidays.
