Festa Major of Esquerra de l'Eixample

The Festa Major de l’Esquerra de l’Eixample comes to the city this October. Celebrating this unique left-hand part of the iconic Eixample, it’ll take place across various public spaces within the neighbourhood, from streets and parks, to community centres and bars.
Like any of the festes majors, there’ll be children’s workshops and family entertainment, concerts and live music, sports tournaments, cultural and community events like dances (sardanes), folk parades (gigantes y “capgrossos”), correfoc (fire-runs), and traditional Catalan performances. There are also talks, exhibitions, gastronomic events - like tapas routes and local market fairs - and communal street meals that bring the neighbourhood together.
This festival is as much about celebrating this barrio’s local identity and community ties as it is about fun. Don’t miss it.
