Festival Escena Poblenou
By Charlotte Stace

Festival Escena Poblenou is an annual multidisciplinary contemporary performing-arts festival rooted in Poblenou. Beyond its annual programme, the festival acts as a year-round incubator of cultural, social and artistic projects across the city.
Created by two artists living in Barcelona, Ada Vilaró and Sergi Estebanel, it promotes, makes visible and supports artistic and theatrical creations that contemplate new languages, dramaturgies, and forms of relationship with the spectator. The festival offers a platform to support the exhibition of different contemporary stage projects and enhance the artistic fabric linked to the Poblenou neighbourhood.
This year’s Escena will include performances from La Quebrá, L’Atapeïda, Projecte EMBRIONS, Kernel Dance Theatre, Clara Narvion, Emma Bassas, Cia María La Culpa, and La côte folle. For more information about the programme, head over to the event website. Tickets for individual performances start at as little as 8 Euros.
