Festival Escena Poblenou 2026
By Charlotte Stace

Festival Escena Poblenou is an annual multidisciplinary contemporary performing-arts festival rooted in Poblenou. It mixes theatre, dance, circus, and new dramaturgies, with performances spilling into streets and local public spaces.
This year, it celebrates its 25th anniversary with 19 shows, including Llum de Fideu’s Aquí, the internationally travelled Adrian Schvarzstein with The Greenman, and Juan Berlanga’s Juancaballo, a dance piece with dramaturgy by Alberto Conejero that won a MAX Award. There’s also Hermanas Picohueso’s Skai is ful, Las Nenas Theatre’s Torcidxs and the latest batch of works-in-progress from Embrions.
The festival has always been about taking risks, discovering new artists and creating special moments between performers and audiences. Beyond its annual programme, it acts as a year-round incubator of cultural, social and artistic projects across the city. For more information about the programme, head over to the event website. Tickets for individual performances start at as little as 8 Euros.
