Time travel back in time with the Fira Modernista. For three days, the Eixample slips back into the late 19th and early 20th centuries and celebrates the city’s great modernista moment. There’ll be period costumes, decorated shopfronts, street life, music, markets and plenty of architectural discovery.

This year’s edition marks the fair’s 20th anniversary and pays tribute to Antoni Gaudí, commemorating 100 years since the architect’s death. It’s an occasion to connect with the bigger story of Barcelona’s most famous architectural movement. Across the programme, you can expect artisans, workshops, guided routes, talks, exhibitions, children’s activities, performances, gegants, antique cars and plenty of local commerce getting into the spirit.

It’s a chance to wander the streets, look up, and remember just how much of the city’s identity was shaped by modernisme.
