Growing up Between Two Artists. A Tribute to Claude Picasso
By Charlotte Stace

This exhibition, Growing Up Between Two Artists. Homage to Claude Picasso, is an intimate exploration of childhood within an iconic artistic family. Focused on Claude and Paloma Picasso growing up in Vallauris, it displays paintings, ceramics, toys, family photographs, and rarely seen works like La Guenon et son petit (1951), offering a familial glimpse into their parents - Pablo Picasso and Françoise Gilot.
Promoted by Paloma Picasso, the exhibition includes previously unseen family material alongside pieces by both parents. This personal tribute is both nostalgic and a celebration of the Picasso’s formative family years.
For the first time in Spain, the show dedicates a key section to Françoise Gilot’s own artistic career, recognising her international significance and contributions. Ultimately, the exhibition blends family life with artistic legacy, highlighting a major chapter in both Picasso’s creative evolution and personal affairs.
