Pioneers, 125 years of Catalan football
By Charlotte Stace

The new exhibition PIONERS. 125 Years of Catalan Football at IDEAL commemorates the 125th anniversary of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF). It pays tribute to the clubs, players and fans who have shaped Catalan football since 1900.
A highlight of the exhibition is the 15 minute long immersive film 125 GOLS, which revisits iconic goals and moments from legends like Kubala and Cruyff to contemporary stars such as Aitana Bonmatí and Lamine Yamal. Additionally, a VR360 experience features conversations from six major Catalan football figures, who discuss passion for the game, team spirit and ambition.
Each of the seven themed rooms highlights different historical periods and cultural moments, from the formation of the first Catalan clubs to the modern global impact of local players. Beyond that, the exhibit also examines how football has mirrored wider social changes in Catalunya.
