Les Corts rounds off Carnaval 2026 with a traditional finale. The Burial of the Sardine followed by a typical sardine feast - open to everyone - comes to this neighbourhood. It’s a goodbye to the chaos of Carnaval and a communal “right, back to real life” moment, done with humour and a touch of drama.

The event is led by the Diables de les Corts, who bring their show-stopping fire to the proceedings. There’ll be a mix of lively street performances, the theatre of a great community tradition, and a fiery atmosphere as the Diables mark the end of the reign of Carnestoltes and usher in Vella Quaresma (the start of Lent).

It’s a brilliant local plan if you want to experience Barcelona’s traditions in a way that puts you at the very centre of the local community. It’s a closing ritual, a bit of spectacle, and an opportunity to share an experience together.
