Parking Shakespeare returns to the Parc de l'Estació del Nord with the perfect formula: Shakespeare, a park and a circle of spectators pulled right into the middle of the action. Since 2009, the company has brought the Bard outdoors in Barcelona, stripping things back to just actors and original text.

This year’s production is Hamlet i les coses podrides, a contemporary take on Hamlet directed by Roger Torns. The piece leans into suspicion, ghosts, power games, corruption, guilt and delayed revenge, asking what it means to act when the whole system feels wrong. The producers usually create a play that relates to modern day issues, and this one feels particularly close to home.

There’ll be no grand stage or set - just the audience gathered around the performers. It’s your perfect dose of summer culture.
