The Value of Water
By Charlotte Stace

Cooking, cleaning, washing, showering…all of these actions require water, and more of it than we think. The Value of Water examines our relationship with life’s most vital yet increasingly threatened resource. By looking at simple everyday acts, the exhibition questions how long we can continue to take water for granted and how design can help reduce domestic waste.
Drawing from the Museu del Disseny-DHub’s collection, the show traces historical methods of collecting, conducting and storing water. From ancient vessels to modern plumbing innovations, it highlights how necessity has come to shape smarter systems of use.
Moving into the 21st century, the exhibition pays particular attention to inventive new solutions for saving and reusing water in today’s homes. From tap regulators to recycling devices, contemporary design will take centre stage.
