Women in Art

Festival DONA - Art en femení celebrates art made by women. Over the past five years since it was founded, it’s an event that has become a major fixture in Sitges’ cultural calendar. The idea is simple but important - it gives space, visibility and recognition to women artists across a range of artistic disciplines, in a world where their work has too often been pushed to the side.
Rather than focusing on one single form, the festival opens the door to a varied programme of performance, music, theatre, visual art and more. That breadth is part of its charm - it’s a generous gathering of voices, styles and ways of seeing.
This year’s programme includes One Night Only with Ria Jones, the monologue Failed Annihilation with Carlota Gurt, an opera and zarzuela recital with Ainhoa Arteta and Luis Santana, a DJ set and musical vermouth with Les Pitjor Impossible, and Fars with Esbart Ciutat Comtal. There’s also a wine-and-ice-cream pairing and a ceramics workshop.
