Women Will Come 2026

Women Will Come. 150 Years of Struggle in the Streets of Barcelona retells the city’s recent history through the women who stepped into public space to demand change. Held at MUHBA, the exhibition follows 150 years of feminist, social and political struggle, showing how Barcelona’s streets have become stages for protest, solidarity, writing, art and collective action.
The exhibition brings together the voices and trajectories of around 80 writers, artists and activists, many of them too often pushed to the margins of official memory. Through photographs, paintings, manifestos, slogans and material drawn from the archives, it traces the ways women have fought for rights, visibility, class justice and political transformation.
Alongside the exhibition, MUHBA also offers related city routes exploring women’s roles across Barcelona’s history, from medieval women “amb empenta” to silenced voices and industrial-era revolts.
