World Press Photo 2025
By Charlotte Stace

The eagerly awaited World Press Photo 2025 exhibition returns to the CCCB for its 21st edition. The world’s most prestigious photojournalism exhibition, it showcases the competition’s winning images, offering a powerful range of perspectives on the world’s biggest global events.
This edition features 42 photographers from six global regions: Africa, Asia-Pacific and Oceania, Europe, North and Central America, South America, and West, Central, and South Asia. Each region is represented across three categories: Single Photographs, Photo Stories, and Long-Term Projects, highlighting both immediate reportage and in-depth visual narratives.
The selected images address some of the world’s most urgent issues from 2024, including politics, gender, migration, conflict and climate change. They document protests in Kenya and El Salvador, wars in Lebanon and Palestine, the impacts of climate crises in Peru, Brazil and the Philippines, and the persecution of LGBTQI+ communities in Nigeria, among others. The exhibition will be in Barcelona for one month - don’t miss it.
