For a health and fitness kick, head to The Studio in Barri Gòtic where you’ll find TRX for strength, endurance and flexibility; acroyoga for beginners plus vinyasa flow, yin and power yoga; and Pilates.
Opening in 2018 by Jamie Luke, a former accountant who left crunching numbers to pursue personal training, he’s grown with a team of trainers that now give 30 group classes a week, plus one-on-one personal sessions in between. Unique to The Studio is TRX, as they’re the only ones offering these classes in the city. Born in the Navy SEALs, TRX suspension training develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously, good for building muscle and losing weight.
They also run workshops with international instructors – from yoga to meditation, nutrition and relaxation. Classes are offered in English and Spanish, and also available through Urban Sports Club and OneFit, where they’re one of the top-rated spaces in the city.
