Are we alone in the universe? CosmoCaixa’s latest exhibition Extraterrestrials: Is There Life Beyond Earth? explores this age-old question. It delves into the history of this search for life and its portrayal in art, film and literature. Through a fusion of science and creativity, the exhibition offers an engaging journey into the possibilities of extraterrestrial life.
Divided into five thematic sections, it begins with Here We Live, which situates Earth within the cosmos and examines its unique biodiversity. Between Zero and Infinity explores the scientific, philosophical and artistic perspectives on life beyond our planet. Fiction vs. Reality looks at how extraterrestrials have been imagined in popular culture, and The Search and Are We Alone? highlight recent scientific advances in detecting new worlds and potential interstellar communication.
Featuring interactive displays, models, real artifacts and audiovisual materials, the exhibition invites us to reflect on humanity’s place in the universe.
