Nitsa began in 1994, when the embers of acid house were still glowing in the UK, a young Bill Clinton was settling into the White House, and memories of the fall of the Berlin wall were still fresh. It has been the great survivor and driver of Barcelona's quality clubbing scene ever since, with a relentless schedule of international guests and a solid base of residents, one of whom, Shelby Grey, sadly died in September and will doubtless be in the thoughts of many during these 30th-anniversary celebrations.

On Friday, Astin (the lower floor of Apolo) is the centre of the action, with Miss Kittin, pictured, and Toktok vs Soffy O topping the bill alongside residents DJ Fra and DJ Coco. Upstairs Germany's DJ Heartstring Is joined by Acidnena and Drazzit. The centre of gravity moves upstairs on Saturday, with the great and oh-so-Nitsa Honey Dijon headlining, while the highlights downstairs include PC Music associate Danny L Harle and a live set from Warp legends Plaid.
