Acid Tongue
By Kit Macdonald

With NYC's The Josephine Network playing at the same Poble Espanyol venue on September 23rd, a fine start to the week is in prospect for fans of down-and-dirty American garage-rock. Acid Tongue, formed in 2015 in Seattle by singer and guitarist Guy Keltner and drummer Ian Cunningham, are first and foremost devotees and producers of psychedelic rock, with a sound awash with dreamy, reverb-heavy guitars, trippy soundscapes and experimental arrangements that recall The Velvet Underground and The Doors.
They are currently promoting their fourth album, Acid on the Dancefloor, a concept album that revolves around different chapters of Keltner's life, and his struggles with what he describes as the typical problems of adulthood: drugs, alcohol, love, family and friends.
Local support act Heden ‘StarTrip, meanwhile, bill themselves as a power trio who combine psychedelic rock with the sounds and aesthetics of spaghetti western films.
