Architecture weeks 2024
By Charlotte Stace
For seven weeks, Barcelona will be holding its Architecture Weeks. Each week will serve up a wide variety of exhibitions, competitions, awards, discussions, guided tours and much more for everybody in each of the city’s districts. The aim? To strengthen the link between architecture and the general public.
Of course, Barcelona’s urban heritage is of world class status, with its mix of modernista masterpieces, such as the Sagrada Familia and the Hospital de Sant Pau, and its more modern buildings such as the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion and the Torre Agbar. The seven weeks will help people to learn about, experience and celebrate the city's architecture and heritage.
After it began in 2017, Architecture Weeks has been open to all organisations devoted to the promotion of architecture in the city. This year, 74 entities and 12 universities have responded to the open call, and together there will be more than 183 activities aimed at audiences of all kinds.
