Arts Libris
Known as the day of lovers, Sant Jordi is also one of my favorite times of the year. On April 23rd books and roses fill the city streets; traditionally, women receive roses, men books, but fortunately today giving both to either sex is common. Every year four million roses and a hundred thousand books are sold in Catalunya, accounting for half of annual book sales.
Around this date, the Arts Santa Mònica museum organizes Arts Libris, a book fair focusing on art, photography and design with over seventy exhibitors as well as conferences, presentations and workshops. Included is Legible-Visible. Between the Film Frame and the Page, a collective exhibition featuring two dozen works of a dual nature that explore the interweaving of the printed page with audiovisual narrative.
