ASB Hike
By Jannis Friedrich
Barcelona may be beautiful, and its streets as enticing as any, but Catalunya offers much more – ancient monasteries, rocky landscapes, gentle mountains and idyllic villages. But it's not easy to know where to go outside the city.
Enter the American Society of Barcelona, who have taken all the logistics off your hands to organize a hike. The days begins with a train ride to Sant Vicenç de Castellet, parting stop for an excursion through the rocky footpaths of the surrounding forest. The journey includes a stop at Hostal Sant Jaume de Vallhonesta, where the group will enjoy lunch, and a visit to the ruins of the Romanesque hermitage Sant Pere before finishing at Sant Vicenç de Castellet and the local Festa del Caga Tió before returning to Barcelona.
