Bala Desejo

Brazilian group Bala Desejo comes to perform live at Sala Apolo. Formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2020 during the pandemic, the band consists of Dora Morelenbaum, Julia Mestre, Lucas Nunes and Zé Ibarra. The band came together during the pandemic when they decided to spend lockdown together in an apartment in Copacabana.
After making music and gaining popularity on social media, they started performing live web shows and appearing as support acts for a number of other musicians - such as the singer Teresa Cristina. Through this, they were noticed by record producer Gabriel Andrade and began working on their debut album Sim Sim (2022). Their style channels the music of 1970s Brazilian psychedelia and MPB, with a modern twist.
With the same album they won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album in 2022 and played at major music festivals such as Rock in Rio and Primavera Sound. Don’t miss them live.
