Barcelona Christmas Lights
By Charlotte Stace
“It’s the most magical time of the year.” And to mark the beginning of the festive season, there’ll be a ceremony for turning on Barcelona's Christmas lights. As usual, the city’s avenues and plaças will be magically lit up with colourful designs, In total, 110 kilometres of lights will be switched on and will remain in place until Epiphany on January 6th.
This year's eagerly awaited switching on of the lights will take place on the central Passeig de Gràcia, from ronda de Sant Pere to Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes. This year, it'll be opened by Aktionstheater PAN.OPTIKUM, who come to present the show Solvern.
If you’d like to join in the fun, head over to Passeig de Gràcia on November 28th at 6pm. As usual, this event is free and open to all. Get there early to get a good spot.
