"I feel the need, the need for speed". This famous Top Gun quote is apt for the incoming Festival de la Velocidad - the Barcelona Speed Festival - this weekend. But rather than jet aeroplanes, the Speed Festival puts motor racing under the spotlight. 

Now in its 9^th edition, it brings cars, drivers and an intense series of races to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya track for three full days. There’ll be over 200 cars and more than 300 drivers, as well as the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, the benchmark GT competition in international motorsport. Aside from racing, there’ll be parallel activities with modified and performance car gatherings, an exclusive car manufacturers’ area, a commercial village, autograph sessions and much more for all the family to enjoy. 

This year, the festival will be collecting donations for the Legado María de Villota, a charity initiative to help children with neuromuscular diseases.
