BAUM Fest
By Casey Wise
If you have a passion for tattoos, extreme sports, custom bikes & cars and street food, then the BAUM festival might be the best three days of your year. BAUM (Barcelona Art and Urban Movement) and its associated Barcelona Tattoo Expo return to the city once again, with an expected attendance of 18,000 visitors eager to enjoy the immersive array of exhibitions.
This year honors two cultures celebrated for their art, history and legend: Japanese and Viking. So what’s in store? Well, Friday will see dance presentations, BMX displays and Japanese burlesque. On Saturday you can enjoy graffiti exhibits, bboy battles and traditional Japanese taiko drumming. Finally, Sunday features skateboard competitions, Polynesian dance and a spot of Viking swordplay by Brokkar Lag.
There’ll also be live music, DJs and the Arte Sobre Ruedas bike & car show – visit the festival website for the full timetable of events.
