The inaugural BCN Psych Fest took place in springtime last year and has been bringing touring psych bands to its habitual base in Poble Espanyol ever since.
The end of March sees the return of their showpiece event, with over a dozen groups and DJs confirmed for a very weird weekend and more to be announced before the festival. The lineup varies in origin and age, but the acts share a strong commitment to the fuzz and delay of guitar pedals, the cosmic chords of vintage synths and plenty of unrestrained hair.
Leading lights on the bill include the New York duo The Vacant Lots, Canadian artist Tess Parks and a personal favorite, Lorelle Meets the Obsolete, from Mexico. The red velvet curtains and checkered floor of Upload provide an ideal venue for this colorful gathering, with plenty of dark corners to zone out.
