Biennial 2064

La Virreina Centre de la Imatge will hold a series of talks entitled Biennial 2064. These talks are a preview of the exhibition of the same name, currently in production, which will be held in 2022 at the exhibition space. They will be given by R. Albalat, A. fito Rodríguez and J.L. Marzo, members of the Ángela Novo collective.
The last Biennial 2064 had a profound effect on the art world. The triumph of The App was first questioned when the first cracks of the curatorial and expository model of decentralized algorithmic structure were revealed. In that edition, the curatorial selection and design system made the first self-criticism of its own work and suggested the need to recover some artistic practices related to certain local fabrics of creation and political resistance (what Ángela Novo calls “discards”) that had been an inspiration for the art system from the 2030s onwards.
