Casa Rocamora Guided Tour
By Charlotte Stace
Soak up some culture with a guided tour of Casa Rocamora. This Spanish-Elizabethan palazzo in the district of El Putxet is full of treasures - it houses one of the most highly prized collections of Alcora pottery, and 19th- and 20th-century drawings, paintings and sculptures.
It takes its name from its former owner; the art lover and collector Manuel Rocamora Vidal. Across his lifetime, he collected thousands of items that now belong to the Fundación Cultural Privada Rocamora. The Foundation is based at the Casa Rocamora, and showcases more than 20 collections, a library of 5000 volumes on literature, art, music and history, and a gallery dedicated to the Catalan painter Ramon Casas. What’s more, it also houses a noteworthy collection of 18th and 19th-century furniture, together with collections of advertising material, figureheads, letters and much more.
Discover these treasures with a guided tour of the building this summer.
