Christmas Dreams at the CCCB
By Charlotte Stace
Celebrate Christmas at the CCCB with their short series of video screenings that make up Christmas Dreams with the CCCB.
The screenings will consist of four short animation films from the Czech Film Archive collection that are suitable for all the family. In the mid-20th century, Czech animated cinema achieved international recognition for its mixture of technical expertise and imagination that turned everyday objects - like a rag doll, a toy or a ball of wool - into the heroes of these Christmas stories.
The films that will be shown include: Vánoční sen (A Christmas Dream), Karel Zeman and Bořivoj Zeman (1945), Paraplíčko (The Little Umbrella), Břetislav Pojar, (1957), Sněhulák (The Snowman), Hermína Týrlová (1966), Vánoční stromeček (Christmas Tree), Hermína Týrlová, (1968). All films will be shown in the main hall of the CCCB and are free admission.
