By Charlotte Stace
The 19th International Festival of Social Cinema of Catalonia comes to the region for a new edition. It will be hosted in the cities of Manresa, Navarcles and Sant Fruitós de Bages.
This year’s program presents Catalan premieres of the best auteur films of the coming season, starting with Mstysalv Chernov’s acclaimed 20 days in Mariupol, as well as Banel & Adama by Ramata-Toulaye Sy, Evil Does Not Exist by Ryûsuke Hamaguchi and Eiko Ishbashi, and Kokomo City by D. Smith, to name but a few. This year, there will be over 50 films shown at the festival, each with a focus on international social issues and the world around us.
CLAM is accompanied on its journey by a host of other foreign institutions: the Clermont-Ferrand festival, the Cinemateca Uruguaya, the Luis Buñuel Film Institute and a multitude of guests from outside Catalunya. Tickets for the full set of films cost €30 and individual film tickets cost €8 - get yours now.
