Cruïlla
By Sam Walker-Smart
With an oddly wet May out the way, summer has now truly ignited in Barcelona – and that means festivals ahoy. Primavera Sound enjoyed another bumper year, but Parc del Fòrum still has one more multi-day bash to host: the tenth edition of Cruïlla.
A less hectic and more family-friendly affair, the festival offers a bumper crop of artists this year including the ever-enchanting Kylie Minogue, indie titans Foals and perky popstars Years & Years. Throw in the soulful tunes of Michael Kiwanuka and ‘90s classics from Garbage, and you’ve got something for everyone. Our personal pick is Norwegian singer-songwriter Aurora who’s just dropped her second album as well as providing vocals on the recent The Chemical Brothers album. A rising star worth catching, she’ll be followed by the Black Eyed Peas on Wednesday.
This is the ideal party to get your July started. We’ll see you at the front!
