Dart Festival
By Charlotte Stace
Dart Festival 2020 arrives to Filmin. The meeting point between cinema and art in Spain, it is the first documentary film festival dedicated to contemporary art. It offers a genre previously unexplored by existing film festivals in Spain and Latin America, focusing our attention on contemporary art. Its main objective is to intertwine culture and knowledge with the general public.
It does so through documentaries on photography, art curatorship, painting, performance, architecture, artistic movements and, in general, on contemporary art, paying special attention to artists, their creative processes and the stories behind their work. It covers biopics, visual arts projects, exhibitions and more.
Some films included on the program include Ai WeiWei. Yours Truly and Burning Man: Art on Fire. Furthermore, the program includes talks, virtual visits of galleries, exhibitions, and debates. Dart Festival will be held from November 26th to December 8th online via Filmin, plus a special showing of Keith Haring: Street Art Boy at Cinemes Girona on December 6th.
