Día de Cavas (Open Air Festival)
By Kit Macdonald
This fusion of two delightful but normally quite separate things has the look of a truly perfect activity for early spring. Cava Vilarnau in the Sant Sadurní d'Anoia area west of Barcelona, in the heart of the Penedes, is a great cava vineyard that's worth visiting for a cava tasting at any time of the year. Promoters LA ASO and theBasement had the excellent idea of teaming up with the vineyard for a boutique mini-festival, for which they've booked London's Leon Vynehall, the Japanese DJ/producer Fumiya Tanaka and Germany's Laurine, plus resident DJs from LA ASO and theBasement.
From 12-4pm Sergi and LAUCY & Tamborero will soundtrack the cava tasting element of the day. Various types of tickets are available with more or less of a cava-tasting element included - check out Resident Advisor and Dice for further details. Attendees can make their own way to the vineyard or use a bus service put on by the promoters and available to book when you buy tickets on Dice.
