Pioneer of the Italian hip hop scene, Sandro Orrù - better known as DJ Gruff - comes to perform live at Sala Apolo. The musician is most known for his unique take on rapping and scratching techniques and has been an active member of the Italian scene as a turntablist, DJ, beatmaker, rapper and producer.
Growing up in Rome, the budding musician was exposed to a range of scratching techniques in the 1980s and gradually built up his own original style. He began performing at venues across the region and eventually made a name for himself. Some of his most successful studio albums include, Rapadopa (1993), Zero Stress (1997), Pecorino Sardo (2003), Frikkettonism (2004), Sandro O.B. (2008), Phonogruff (2010), and August 11 (2019).
