The story of Floorplan is surely one of the sweeter tales to be found in dance music. Alongside the likes of Jeff Mills and Mike Banks, Robert Hood was one of the founding members of Underground Resistance, the collective who pioneered the rough and ready sound and militantly political ethos of second-wave Detroit techno. Hood also found time to pioneer minimal techno with 1994's solo album Minimal Nation, while also starting to explore his interest in gospel-infused house music via a new project called Floorplan after being "awakened by a vision".

The uplifting, melodic soul of Floorplan was defined by the early, anthemic likes of the tracks We Magnify His Name and Never Grow Old, before Hood added his daughter, Lyric Hood, as a permanent second member of the project in 2016. The pair have been happily working and touring together ever since, releasing two acclaimed albums and a steady stream of EPs and 12-inches. This will be the first time they have appeared at La Terrrazza, with support from the French DJ Beniso.
