If you find yourself with a desire for a good food and zero promise of being satisfied while washed up on the Ramblas, rediscover Barcelona’s local gastronomy through Spanish food blog Plateselector. With post after post of nothing but the finest and often inexpensive local bites, the site is fast becoming a holy tomb of “to dos” for foodies keen to discover something new.

Plateselector also have an HQ in Barceloneta where they regularly host exquisite dinners for up to twelve people with resident chef Johann Wald who, rather than serving up a set menu of dishes, concocts mouth-watering experiments that take inspiration from everything from French to Southeast Asian cuisine. The space is not so much a restaurant as supper club with friends.
