The Museu Picasso welcomes an exhibition on the work of the French artist and model Fernande Olivier, known for having been Picasso’s model and first muse.

During their time together, she produced written accounts of the life she shared with Picasso, which bring us closer to an understanding of this great artist and show us his poor, shy and enamoured side.

In Picasso et ses amis (1933) and Intimate souvenirs. Écris pour Picasso (1988), Olivier notes down the years of living together with the artist in the Bateau-Lavoir. Aside from this, she also wrote a series of stories and poems that present a great sensitivity and strong intellectual interest.

Not only does this exhibition present her writings, it also spotlights her artwork and photography. To that end, it allows us to trace the life and relationships of Fernande Olivier, one of the few female voices that bore witness to this time in history.
