It's interesting—short films are frequently overlooked compared to their feature-length counterparts. However, despite their shorter runtime, some of the best short films possess an incredible ability to deliver powerful stories and artistry in a brief, yet profoundly impactful format.

In celebration of the short film, Filmets Badalona Short Film Festival, returns to mark its 50^th anniversary. One of Catalunya’s oldest and most cherished film festivals, it has come a long way since its very first edition over five decades ago. Originally an international space for showcasing amateur films, the festival has evolved into a platform for both local talents and international icons in the film industry. 

This year’s line-up celebrates an exciting mix of leading national and international short filmmakers, with an extensive programme of awe-inspiring films throughout October. So, what’s in store for us this year? The lineup includes: The Skylar Will Sing (by Xavier Montoriol), Cura Sana (by Lucia G. Romero), and The Painter’s Room (by Maria Colomer).
