If you’re looking to discover new, otherworldly music, then we’ve got something very special coming up for you. The group Gregotechno offers a groundbreaking fusion of Gregorian chant and techno music, creating an incredible and transcendent experience.
This unique project combines medieval music with electronic rhythms, enhanced by mesmerising video art inspired by microscopic imagery and pre-/romanesque architecture. The result is a fusion of three essential elements: the meditative repetition of Gregorian modes, the pulsating beats of electronic music, and dynamic visual representations of ancient forms and microscopic life.
Originating in Barcelona, Gregotechno began its development in 2022 with the support of Beques Barcelona Crea. It unites the talents of multidisciplinary artist Marc Vilajuana, electronic musician Alejandro Narés, and nanobiotechnologist Xavier Arqué, alongside collaborators Otger Ibars and Júlia Girós.
