Museu d’Història de Catalunya welcomes its new exhibition, Guillén: The Magic of Set Design.Guillén, a satirical cartoonist, painter and stage designer, whose images are steeped in social and political criticism, has also been a key player in the development of stage design: objects, artifacts, figurines, characterization, masks and stage space, among many other components.

The stage designer has created works of art through his scenery over the years, in which form, color, objects, furniture and costumes are transformed by virtue of what drama requires in every moment. He has added mechanical and virtual tricks to create and change scenes, which impact the viewer and create a magical and amazing effect.

Since 1992, Guillén’s art has been associated with various plays and operas by comedians that have circulated around the world. Now his set designs will be shown in one exhibition, so we can delight in this art form.
