Hemendik Hurbil - Close Enough

La Virreina welcomes an exhibition on the Spanish photographer Clemente Bernad. Over the past 30 years, Bernad has photographed some of the biggest social and political crises in southern Europe. A proponent of photojournalism, his images usually appear in publications and exhibitions that celebrate the documentary characteristic of his work.
Hemendik Hurbil / Close Enough is the latest of his projects - a book containing 470 photographic images. Within this, he has brought together one of the most extensive portrayals of the Basque conflict the world has seen. It features an impressive collection of photographs taken in the region between 1987 and 2018.
This exhibition highlights the strongly empirical nature of documentary photography, for which the photographer must be present in the heart of events, which can be extremely dangerous. Don’t miss this chance to see the collection of images on display.
