Henri Cartier-bresson
By Charlotte Stace
The Fundacio Mapfre welcomes a new exhibition on the work of the French photographer and co-founder of the Magnum photographic agency, Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004).
One of the most prolific photographers of the 20th century, as a photojournalist, art and portrait photographer, he worked to create timeless images and shaped the style of photography for generations to come. He is especially well-known for his ability to capture spontaneous moments and became an extremely influential figure within the field of street photography.
This exhibition offers a wide-ranging and in-depth look at his work. In addition to his early photography, cinematographic works and political photo reportage, his portraits of well-known figures will also be on display. There will be 240 original images and a selection of publications and magazines featuring his work between 1930 and 1970.
