Hub Talk
By Thomas Macaulay
Barcelona is big on collaborative consumption. Whether you dine with EatWith, sleep with Airbnb, travel with Bicing, or work at one of the city’s many coworking spaces, an alternative economic model rooted in sharing can provide for all your basic needs.
Albert Cañigueral can be considered the movement’s leader in Spain. The founder of Consumo Colaborativo, the first Spanish blog on the sharing economy, and of the OuiShare Barcelona Connector, Cañigueral will discuss his experiences at Impact Hub's latest Hub Talk.
Cañigueral will explore the economic and social impacts of collaborative consumption. Today, the focus of consumption is shifting from possession to use, i.e. of assets that are shared. As Cañigueral states in his book, Vivir mejor con menos (Live better with less): “ideas are one of those things that not only are not spent, but that multiply when shared.”
