Singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin was born and raised in Blue Mountains, Australia. Inspired by Britney Spears, at the age of 10, she took classical singing lessons before joining a high school band which did Avril Lavigne and Evanescence covers.
Since then, she’s written and recorded three studio albums: Don't Let the Kids Win (2016), Crushing (2019), and the latest, Pre Pleasure (2022). While her musical style is often characterised as indie pop, indie folk, and alternative country, Allmusic hit the nail on the head by describing her style a "meld of dreamy indie pop and confessional alt-country".
Her latest single, “Shivers”, was released in 2023 and left fans reeling. It suggests she’ll be bringing out a new album soon and we can’t wait. Don’t miss her performing live at Sala Apolo this month. Tickets on sale now.
