Kevin Richard Martin

A weekend like no other for fans of British bass music legend Kevin Martin, aka The Bug, as he plays on two consecutive nights in Barcelona.
The first show, under his warped-ambient alias Kevin Richard Martin, finds him playing a live show based on the five Frequencies For Leaving Earth albums he made at his Brussels studio and released in quick succession in the middle of the pandemic. “It was an attempt to focus on my love of sound and frequencies, and to passionately nurture that love,” as he told an interviewer at the time.
Friday's show will be all about sonic levitation, but Saturday's will be far too heavy for any of that, as Martin plays a set in his teeth-rattling bass music guise The Bug alongside the similarly inclined Flowdan. Om Unit and Holy Tongue also feature on a huge seven-artist bill, all of them playing on an equally huge custom-built sound rig.
