Zumzeig holds a special screening of the Americana indie documentary film, Kokomo City. Directed by D. Smith, it follows the lives of four black trans sex workers, Daniella, Dominique, Liyah, and Koko.

This documentary prompts us to reflect on these people’s connection to the black community, their femininity, the challenges they face in their work, and their daily struggles as individuals existing outside of the normal structure of society. 

In her debut film, D. Smith takes charge of the screenplay and the stunning black-and-white cinematography. She seamlessly weaves transcendental moments with entertaining anecdotes, allowing her protagonists to share their stories. She employs an observant lens that grants us a glimpse into their intimacy, captivating us with their naturalness and their bodies. This documentary won the Panorama Audience Award at the latest edition of the Berlin International Film Festival.The film will be showed in English with subtitled in Spanish.
