Krystal Klear + Lauer
By Kit Macdonald
If there's to be any slowdown on Barcelona's clubbing scene this August, nobody has told Nitsa, who continue to bring multiple heavy hitters to Apolo on a twice-weekly basis regardless of the traditional exodus of locals. On Saturday the main floor is co-headlined by Krystal Klear, aka Declan Lennon, and a like-minded weaver of infectious, 80s and 90s-inflected house in Phillip Lauer.
Lennon appeared in the late 2010s and is probably best known for the irresistible Neutron Dance, a track of such exquisite melodic force that it still catches the attention six years after it was released and achieved instant ubiquity as one of that summer's biggest dancefloor hits. Lauer has been doing his thing for even longer and is noted for crafting DJ sets that mirror the warmth, melodiousness and toothsome grooves of his own productions and (hundreds of) remixes. First on upstairs is Mexico's Mystery Affair, while downstairs in Astin Catalunya's own Coyu, the man behind the Suara record label, plays a four-hour set with support from Acidnena.
