La Copa Nadal de Barcelona 2024
By Charlotte Stace
This Christmas Day, around 500 swimmers will dive into the icy cold Mediterranean for a brisk 200-meter race at Maremagnum port. Known as La Copa Nadal, this long-standing tradition, organised by Club Natació Barcelona, celebrates its 115th edition this year.
Cold water swimming has long been recognised for its health benefits: improved circulation, boosted metabolism, a stronger immune system, and healthier skin. The sudden temperature shift also triggers the release of serotonin and dopamine, which serves to enhance our mood and energy levels.
Last year’s edition was the largest in history, with 424 registered participants. Hoping to exceed that number this season, La Copa Nadal 2024 invites you to take part. Simply register online and show up on the day - we’ll see you there.
