LATcinema fest
By Charlotte Stace
LATcinema Fest presents its third edition with nine productions that aim to take us on an exciting and thought-provoking journey across the Latin American continent from north to south: Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil and Argentina.
In this year’s selection, we’ll find stories that address topics which cross spatial and temporal borders: freedom, the right to fundamental resources, the challenges of youth, mental health and reporting abuse. We will have the opportunity as spectators to learn about stories that speak of passion, diversity, justice, farewells and love. Alongside the films, we’ll also have the chance to connect with some of the filmmakers who come to Barcelona to accompany their work.
Among the first titles confirmed for the festival we have: Los de abajo by Alejandro Quiroga; A batalha da rua Maria Antônia by Vera Egito; Death and Wonders by Diego Soto; El otro hijo by Sebastián Quebrada; and La Habana de Fito by Juan Pin Vilar.
